Birmingham - SAP Extension Assessment / SAP Extension Assessment

These are a Government defined process in accordance with Part L1B Building Control Regulation Compliance of Domestic Property SAP Extension Assessment are the Government's Standard Assessment Procedure for Energy Rating of Dwellings.

Whether constructing a new dwelling, building a highly glazed extension or converting a building, energy calculations are required in order to demonstrate compliance with Building Regulations and/or Planning conditions.

You will automatically achieve Compliance with Part L1B if the extension envelope is sufficiently insulated, the area of all openings is within the 25% allowance and building service are sufficient.

If your dwelling does not achieve this standard our consultants in Birmingham will be able to give you advise on how to offset this by potentially upgrading other parts of the dwelling.

All SAP Extension Assessment are calculated in accordance with Part L1B of the building regulations.

Many extension designs do not comply with the minimum Part L1b regulations.

These require that areas of new glazing account for no more than 25% of new floor area.
