All employers have a responsibility to carry out risk assessments in the workplace to identify any risk to health from exposure to noise. This applies to all work carried out by any employee working in a noisy environment or workplace.

However, both the upper exposure action value and the lower exposure action value do not take into account heating protection. Though the limit value does take into account hearing protection.
